Conference to Cocktails

“Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans” – John Lennon.

Now that the holidays are behind us, we’re back in the swing of things – full steam ahead! You know how it is, juggling a bazillion things, from work, to kids, to time w/ friends, to a little ‘us’ time, groceries, etc, etc. But as they say, the show must go on… So, here are a few things to help you go from work, directly to an evening out. Things you can easily fit in your purse, or a small bag (which you could take to work). Low maintenance, low effort, definitely mega impact. Or as I like to call it, LEMI (Low Effort Mega Impact)

Statement earrings: a definite LEMI. Easy to throw in a little pouch in your purse.

Bracelet: super simple way to add a little sparkle to your outfit.

Dark lipstick: Nothing says glamor like a striking color on your lips. Think reds/ deep pinks/ dark browns.

Eyeliner: Easy way to up your look with a few strokes of a liner on your eyelids. Also, apply/ touch up your mascara while you’re at it (I’ve included a link to my absolute favorite mascara below). I’ve included my top picks in waterproof pencil, waterproof retractable, and liquid eyeliners below.

Scarf/ Stole: easily roll up your fave colorful scarf in your bag, to later add a little pizzaz to your all black work dress or shirt-pant ensemble, as you roll into the night. A stole will also provide reprieve from the chilly eve. See post here and here for some options.

Heels: Slightly bigger (than a lipstick for example, which you can throw in your bag), but definitely high impact. Carry them right in your purse in a shoe bag. I’ve included a few examples below.

Tory Burch                                    Viktoria Hayman

                Noir                                               Betsey Johnson

Christian Dior                                              NARS

Buxom                   Lancôme       Lancôme GRANDIÔSE   Lancôme Mascara

Kate Spade New York Travel Shoe Bag    Travel Shoes Bags (set of six)
