Designer of the day: Louise et Cie

“Design is not for philosophy, it’s for life” – Issey Miyaki.

In 2001, Vince Comuto launched a fashion house Vince Camuto Group. In 2005, the company’s creative director, and Vince’s wife, Louise Camuto launched her own line, Louise et Cie. Her style is sophisticated, timeless, and very wearable. I love the clean lines, plus the extra touches I find – a little bit of metallic embellishment here, a little swoop there. Here are a few of her designs (my favorites).

Block Heel: perforated cut out Vanita sandal. Love the design, suede, double buckle ankle cuff, 3″ wooden heel, and the gleaming metallic stripe. Available in Nubuck, Black, and Navy (pics below).

Flats: Lace up, Abri pointed Toe Ghillie Flat is one of my favorites. Available in Yam, Bone and Black. Perfect for casual or formal occasions (below).

Pumps: Keen point-toe, buckle pump. 2.5″ heel. Available in Camel, and Black (below).

Sandals: Gabbin Leather Dress Sandals. 4″ heel. Available in Gold and Silver (below).

Oxford + Loafers: This is where (I think Louise) shines. Check out Annacis Perforated Oxford, Freyer laceless Oxford, and Zanie Penny Loafer (below).

Booties: Ynez Channel-quilted buckle boot and Zavier leather boot (below).

HandbagsLouise Et Cie Ivie Leather Tote in grey and black, Jael crossbody in light brown and beige, and the same in black and beige (below).
